Betty Daniels Arneson
Betty Daniels Arneson, 89, died Thursday, May 22, 2014, while living in Miles City.
Mrs. Arneson was born on the family farm in Richland County on July 22, 1924, to Charles Daniels and Ruby Esler Daniels. She was educated at nearby East Lone Butte country school and graduated from Sidney High School in Sidney in 1942. She attended Eastern Montana State Normal College in Billings, leaving there to teach at Prosperous Valley country school near Elmdale, close to the family farm.
After a year of teaching, she went to Helena for aircraft mechanic training and worked for various military contractors in Great Falls and Seattle, Washington.
She married Lyle Arneson in Missoula on Dec. 7, 1944, while he was on furlough from the military during this time. He preceded her in death in 1998.
Mrs. Arneson is survived by their three children, Jim, Deb and Tim; 10 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and her two sisters.
Visitation will be Tuesday, May 27, from 1 to 6 p.m. with family receiving friends from 4 to 6 p.m. in the chapel of Stevenson and Sons Funeral Home in Miles City. This will be followed by a family gathering at 8 p.m. at the Wohlgenant Ranch. Burial will be scheduled for a later date at East Lone Butte Cemetery with a reception following at Gerard Hall for family, friends and community.
