City announces when fireworks allowed
Fireworks will be allowed in the city limits at Bender Park, Riverside Park, Jaycee Field and Tedesco Field on the following days and times:
-- Thursday, July 3: 10 a.m. to 10 p.m
-- Friday, July 4: 10 a.m. to midnight
-- Saturday, July 5: 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.
Tuesday night the Miles City Council passed Resolution No. 3699, which specified the times and places where fireworks are allowed this year.
The resolution states that all fireworks must comply with all state and federal regulations.
Discharging fireworks in the city outside these areas or times is prohibited.
During the city council discussion Tuesday night, Council Member Roxanna Brush expressed concern about the garbage people leave behind after shooting off fireworks.
Public Works Director Scott Gray said the city sets out dumpsters, “but it doesn’t do any good.”
Brush said if people want to continue shooting fireworks in the city limits in future years, they need to pick up their garbage.
