Coleman John Meyer
Coleman John Meyer, 84, of Miles City, Montana passed away Saturday, May 24, 2014 at Laurel Health and Rebab Center. He was born March 15, 1930 in Ekalaka, Montana, the son of Chester and Anna (Markuson) Meyer.
On June 22, 1951 Coleman was united in marriage to Shirley Gundlach in Ekalaka. Even though they lived in Ekalaka, Great Falls, California and Arizona, their home was always Miles City.
Coleman was always self-employed and had many varied occupations, including custom combiner, carpenter, and business owner. For the last 37 years he was Gus the Gutter Man. His hobbies included carpentry, crossword puzzles, and he was a bull riding fan. Coleman was an airplane pilot and enjoyed flying.
Coleman is survived by his wife Shirley; children Jackie (Mark) Lingg, Jeff (Patricia) Meyer, Tim (Maryann) Meyer, Tony (Debbie) Meyer; 9 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; siblings Chester A. (Rona) Meyer, Connie (Frank) Pelican, Betty (Jack) McLaughlin, Patsy (Ritchie) Payne.
Coleman was a man of many talents. He was loved by all who knew him and will be greatly missed. We love you!
Funeral Services for Coleman are 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 28 at Sacred Heart Parish in Miles City. Committal will be 2:30 p.m. in Beaver Lodge Cemetery in Ekalaka. A reception will follow at Saint Joan of Arc Church hall. Memorials may be made to the Ekalaka Museum. Arrangements are in the care of Dahl Funeral Chapel and memories may be shared with the family at www.dahlfuneralchapel.com
