Hair Wreath

Although faded, the delicate workmanship of this wreath, which can be found on display at the Range Riders Museum in Miles City, is to be admired. The wreath is made from human hair. While mourning jewelry was often made with hair of the deceased, this wreath was probably made from hair collected by women when brushing their hair. It was then weaved into jewelry or decorative objects. (STAR PHOTO/Steve Allison)
