Iwalana L. Gali
Iwalana L. Gali, 85, of Tucson, AZ., formerly of Miles City, passed away in her home on November 3, 2013.
Iwalana was born to Everette and Nora Wittenmyer on March 30, 1928, in Broadus, MT. She was raised and went to school in the Broadus (Sonnette) area.
She married John L. Aye, Jr.on July 5, 1945, who died June 6, 1969, in a pickup accident in Lead, SD.
On March 20, 1971, she married Fred Gali, formerly of Broadus, MT. Both resided in Tucson, AZ.
Ivy was loved by her family and was known for her dedication to the Lord, her family, and others. She had a variety of interests including work with the Methodist Church, Girl Scouts, gardening, collecting rocks, and traveling. She was described as an angel by her husband, Fred of 42 years, and is known for her courageous battle with Alzheimer's disease.
We will all miss you, Grandma Ivy.
Survivors include her husband, Fred Gali; son, John Aye II (Trenda), grandchildren John Aye III and Tia Aye; daughter, Lana (Bill) Sweeney, grandchildren Kelsey (Michael) Ress, Billy (Colleen) Sweeney, and Conor Sweeney; daughter Carla (Steve) Glover, grandchildren Michael (Dayna) Glover, Ryan and Kelly Glover; daughter Johnna (Rick) Cecil, grandchildren Travis and Tristin Meidinger, Clint (Brittany) Cecil, Eric (Kaori) Cecil, Amanda and Brian Cecil; step-daughter Colleen (Kim) Moran, grandchildren Shauna (Jared) Moffitt and Danny (Sarah) Moran; step-daughter Annette (Larry) St. Denis, grandchildren Lanaye Ross and Nicholas Gali; grandsons Steve and Duane Kembel.
Ivy was preceded in death by her parents, Geneva Lewis (sister), John Aye Jr. (first husband) and step-son Kenneth Gali.
If desired, memorials may be sent to the Alzheimer's Association or local hospice.
A Celebration of Life Ceremony is planned for the summer of 2014, Black Hills, SD.
