MCC nurse pinning Friday at Centra

 

The Pinning Ceremony for the 2014 Miles Community College Nursing Class will be Friday evening, May 9.

This ceremony begins at 6:30 p.m. in the Kailey Gymnasium in the Centra on the MCC campus. A reception will follow the ceremony in the Centra’s lobby.

The class flower is the yellow Gerber Daisy and the class quote is by Maya Angelou: “People will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel.”

During the Pinning Ceremony, the processional and recessional will be by the Miles City Caledonian Society. Stacy Klippenstein, Ph.D and MCC president, will give the welcome. The presentation of scholarships will be by the American Legion. 

This will be followed by the introduction of the nursing faculty. The MCC nursing instructors and staff are: Karla Lund-Elder, Registered Nurse, master of science degree in nursing (MSN) — nursing program director; Katrina Luther, RN, MSN; Rachel Finn, RN, MSN; Christine Williams, RN, bachelor of science degree in nursing (BSN); Pauline Flotkoetter, RN, MSN; Mary Janssen, master of business administration degree, BSN, CCRN (certification for critical care); Tammy Jones, CCRN; Marlys Eggum, RN, Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP); and Diane Grutkowski, administrative assistant. 

There will be a special presentation by the nursing faculty, after which the 2014 Slide Show will be presented. Families and friends of the nursing graduates will present the pins and Dorothy Zabrocki will lead the Blessing of Hands. This will be followed by the Nightingale Pledge. Karla Lund-Elder will then present the Nursing Class of 2014.
