Thad G. ‘Zeke’ Plog
Thad G. “Zeke” Plog, 42, of Miles City, formerly of Oshkosh, Neb., died Tuesday, April 22, 2014, in St. Vincent’s HealthCare in Billings of injuries sustained Friday, April 18, 2014, while trimming trees.
Mr. Plog was born Dec. 16, 1971, in Ft. Collins, Colo., to Terry and Paula Plog. He joined brother Scott and later became a big brother to sister Mindy.
He attended Big Springs Elementary School from kindergarten through the third grade, then he moved with his family to Oshkosh, Neb., where he attended Oshkosh Elementary School through the eighth grade. Mr. Plog graduated from Garden County High School where he participated in football, wrestling, shop and welding. He attended St. Elizabeth’s Catholic Church and was active in 4-H.
He enjoyed writing stories, painting and welding. He loved helping others in whatever way he could. Mr. Plog truly loved his nephews and little cousins. Most recently, his greatest enjoyment was babysitting his little buddies, Damian and Dominic, who affectionately called him “Mr. Thad.”
Mr. Plog is survived by his parents, Dr. T.L. Plog and Paula Plog of Oshkosh; brother, Scott (Mandy) Plog of Alliance, Neb.; sister, Malinda Plog of Laramie, Wyo.; maternal grandmother, Harriet Speelmon of Ekalaka; aunts and uncles, Mary (Dean) Tarter, Joyce Speelmon, Dolly (Mike) Collins, Kris (Tom) Brophy, John (Jean) Speelmon, Sally (Bob) Young, Jackie (Mark) Lockwood, Ken Speelmon, Jim Speelmon, Tom Speelmon, Mish (Dave) Leidholt, Amy (Rick) Wallace, Trace (Sue) Plog and Tara Plog; great uncle, Sandy Speelmon; many cousins; and special friends, Oliver, Dominic and Damian Sanders.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Archie and Ethel Mae Plog and Kenny Speelmon; aunts, Frankie Speelmon Davis and Heidi Stieg Speelmon; and uncles, Ted and Tom Plog and Dan Speelmon.
Cremation has been chosen. A memorial service will be held at a later date and Mr. Plog will be buried in the Speelmon family plot at Beaver Lodge Cemetery in Ekalaka.
