A new store, Willows, is opening at 809 Main St. Saturday, offering area residents a wide variety of items they may not have been able to get locally.

Ken and Vicki Hess own the store, and Tracey Martin is the manager.

“We tried to get unique stuff, quality stuff, that is priced right,” Ken Hess said. “Stuff you can’t get in Miles City.”

Willows will carry home furnishings like furniture, rugs, blankets, lamps, hand-blown glassware, flowers, baskets (wicker, bamboo, etc.), quilt racks, planters, mirrors and a few antiques. It also has clothing, including lingerie; body jewelry; luggage, wind chimes and more.

Hess has made birdhouses, tables, vases and chests out of Blue Pine from the Tongue River Valley. The trees had been through the fires a few years ago.

“It is real unique wood,” he said.

Before opening, the crew refinished the wood floors, painted the interior and removed the metal shelving units, giving the store a whole new look.

Kickin’ Ass Hat Co. remains at the site.

Willows will be open 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Saturday.
